dc.description.abstractVarious criteria for strong diffusion of magnetospheric electrons under the influence of mid-latitude whistler mode VLF emissions are analysed in detail under the assumption that the waves propagate along the external magnetic field. It is pointed out that strong diffusion is unlikely below 59° geomagnetic latitude (L = 3.8) and diffusion is strongest at L = 4.5.en_US
