|Abstract:||The Indian satellite Bhaskara-II carried a satellite microwave radiometer (SAMIR) operating at 19, 22 and 31 GHz. In a recent study, SAMIR data over ocean were analyzed by the method of supervised classification using NOAA-7 cloud imageries, and threshold brightness temperatures for the three SAMIR channels were determined for distinguishing clear and cloudy conditions. In the present work, using these threshold values, SAMIR data over ocean for cloudy conditions have been separated and the spectral behaviour of the microwave absorption (emission) by cloud liquid water has been studied the results of this study are found to be consistent with the theory .|
