Title: Study of solar type-II radio bursts and H-α flares

Abstract: An analysis of the relationship of solar type-Il radio bursts with H-α flares has been presented. The study shows that 75% of type-II bursts is associated with bright H-α flares of importance ≤ 1. The two-ribbon (TR) H-α flares are 15 times more strongly associated with type-Il bursts than the compact flares. Type-II bursts start 1-15 min after the onset of H-α flares. The time interval between start of type-Il bursts and peak of H-α flares is ± 5 min. This differs from the results found by earlier investigators. The 66% of type-Il bursts is associated with flares' bright points in H-α emissions.
