Title: Auto-correlation study on temperature changes in the tropical stratosphere

Abstract: Auto-correlation analyses on temperature changes in the tropical stratosphere over the meteorological rocket launching station, Thumba (8°N, 77°E), for the period 1970-1990 have been carried out. In the tropical stratosphere, at around 28-30 and 48-50 km levels there exists a passive region of least association between adjacent levels. Considerable dynamical changes are noticed at around 33-42 km altitude zone. Annual and semi-annual oscillations are dominant at around 37-38 km zone. In the upper stratosphere, annual oscillation is found to be more dominant than the semi-annual oscillation.
