Abstract: The potential benefits of nanotechnology have been so compelling that several countries have taken initiatives to create capacity for the development of new technologies and products in the field of nanotechnology. India launched its national nanotechnology initiative in 2000. This technical note analyses Indian contributions in the field of nanotechnology as reflected in the patents output.
