Title: Influence of Constructional Parameters on the Tensile Properties of Cotton Fabrics

Abstract: Forty grey fabrics (including 15 long cloth varieties) varying in count and construction were collected from different textile mills to study the relationship between constructional and strength parameters. The relationship between average count and weight/m2 with each of the three strength parameters, namely tensile, tearing and bursting strengths, has been found to be highly significant. The relationship between cloth cover factor and total crimp is, however, significant with tensile and bursting strength only.
