dc.description.abstractA simple and efficient protocol for the transformation of 1-aryl-1-ethanone 1-{3-[2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl][1,8]naphthyridin-2-yl}hydrazones 3 to 3-aryl-1-{3-[2-(trifluoromethyl) phenyl][1,8]-naphthyridin-2-yl}-1H-4-pyrazolecarbaldehydes 4 is reported under microwave irradiation utilizing POCl3-DMF over silica gel with high yields. The structures of the compounds 3 and 4 have been confirmed on the basis of their elemental analyses and spectral (IR, 1H NMR and MS) data. The compounds 4 have been evaluated for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. en_US
