Abstract: A low-temperature single-stage scouring and bleaching process has been worked out using an emulsified solvent-based scouring agent and sodium dichloroisocyanurate-activated sodium chlorite bleaching agent. The process parameters were optimized by factorial design and penalty function method. The total treatment cost for the proposed process worked out to be a little less than that of the conventionally prepared fabric.
