Abstract: The effects of variation of linear density, twist multiplier, spinning frame draft and piling period on the hairiness of jute yarn were examined. With increase in linear density and twist multiplier the hairiness decreased significantly. Increase in spinning frame draft caused a significant increase in hairiness. A piling period of 3 days produced a minimum number of hairs, and with increase in piling period the hairiness increased.
