Abstract: A new method to optimize roller settings in draw frame is proposed. The method is based on in-process testing of fibre length using span length concept. Yarns spun using settings based on the proposed method have better CSP and low count variation than the yarns produced using conventional settings. Explanations based on theoretical considerations have been offered for the observed phenomena.
