Abstract: The degradative effect of sunlight on cotton fabric in presence of artificial perspiration has been evaluated by strength loss studies, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Significant loss in the tensile strength and development of cracks and fibrillation were observed in fibrics exposed in presence of perspiration.
