Abstract: 10-Chloroantitracene-9-aldehyde, obtained by the treatment of N,N-dimethylformamide and phosphorus oxychloride on anthrone, was reacted with piperidine and morpholine to get 10-piperidino- and 10-morpholino-anthracene-9-aldehydesrespectively. Condensation of these compounds with 2-methylbenzoxazole, 2-methylbeozimidazole and 2-cyanomethylbeozimidazole yielded the corresponding 10-piperidino- and 10-morpholino-9-(β-hetarlethylene)anthracenes. These brilliant yellow fluorescent compounds were applied on polyester as disperse dyes which resulted bright yellow shades with green fluorescence with moderate to good light fastness and good sublimation fastness.
