Abstract: | The foaming property of sodium oleyl sulphate in aqueous solution has been measured by the Ross and Miles method at different temperatures. The effect of the addition of a reactive dye (Procion Brilliant Blue MR) on foaming efficiency has also been studied. It has been found that increase in temperature increases the foaming efficiency whereas the addition of dye decreases it. The effect of dye has been attributed to the increase in surface tension of surfactant solutions in the presence of dye. |
