Abstract: The plying of core-spun yarns leads to a significant improvement in tenacity and breaking extension. The increase in the tenacity of Z/Z ply yarns is more sensitive to the change in doubling ratio than the increase in the tenacity of corresponding Z/S ply yarns; the former, however, decreases with increase in doubling ratio. Diameter of Z/Z ply yarns is much less and it decreases with an increase in doubling ratio.
