Abstract: The stress-strain properties of Bharat Merino wool fibres, bundles and yarns were studied at 27 ± 2°C and 65 ± 5% RH. The tex of the fibres, bundles and yarns were recorded and used to find the relation between the stress values and the tex. In general, the relations were significant in the hookean region for the fibres and bundles. These theoretical relations were utilized to predict the bundle and yarn stress values using their respective average tex values. Also, the relations between the observed stress values of the fibres, bundles and yarns were used to find the relations between (i) fibre stress and bundle and yarn stresses and (ii) bundle stress and yarn stress in the hookean region. It seems possible to relate them fairly to a good extent.
