Abstract: Jute fabric has been cross linked with dimethylol¬† dihydroxyethylene urea in the presence of different mixed catalysts consisting of metal salts and organic or inorganic acids by the usual pad-dry-cure method and it is found that this fabric shows better dry and wet wrinkle recovery properties than the fabric crosslinked in the presence of metal salt or acid catalyst alone. The reasons for the increased catalytic efficiency of the mixed catalyst system are discussed.
