Abstract: Five azo dyes containing the pyrazolone moiety as a chelating system were prepared and applied to wool and polyester/wool blend as disperse dyes. Metallization of these dyes on the dyed fabric was carried out using chromium acetate, cobalt acetate and copper acetate solution to form the metal complex inside the fibres. The metalized dyes showed better light and wash fastness than the original dyes and moderate to good perspiration and rubbing fastness.
