Abstract: Twenty-four complexes of Cr(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with 4-arylazo-l, 3-diphenyl-2-pyrazolin- 5-one derivatives have been prepared in two stoichiometric ratios. The stoichiometry of chelates has been confirmed by elemental analyses and conductometric titrations. IR, UV and ESR spectra of ligand and chelates have been discussed and the dyeing performance of complexes on wool fabric has been assessed. The dyes show good wash and light fastness and moderate to good perspiration fastness.
