Abstract: 6-(2, 4-dichloro-s-triazin-6-ylamino)-l-hydroxynaphthalene- 3-sulphonic acid (III), obtained by the treatment of cyanuric chloride (II) with 6-amino-I-hydroxynaphthalene- 3-sulphonic acid (I), was coupled separately In alkaline medium with twelve different diazotized amino compounds (IVa-I) containing sulphonic acid group(s) to obtain 2-arylazo-6-(2, 4-dichloro-s-triazin-6-ylamino)-1-hydroxynaphthalene-3-sulphonic acid sodium sa.lts (Va-I). Compounds (Va-I) were separately treated With p-phenylenediamine (VI) to give 1, 4-bis{N-[6-(2-arylazo-1-hydroxy-3-sodium sulphonatonaphth-6-yiamino)- 2-chloro-s-triazin-6-yl]} phenylenediamines (VIIa-I). The compounds VIIa-I when applied on silk, wool and viscose rayon fabrics gave generally brown and violet shades with good levelness, brightness and depth on these fabrics. Further, all the compounds showed high degree of fixation and high fastness levels.
