Abstract: The influence of incorporation of additional twist on the mechanical properties of friction-spun yarns has been studied. Both tenacity and breaking extension of the yarns improve after twisting them further on ring twister. The stress-strain behaviour of both OE-friction and Dref-3 yarns becomes more and more closer to that of equivalent ring yarns as additional twist is incorporated.
