| Abstract: | The present paper describes synthesis of 7-bromo-9-methyl phenothiazines by Smile's rearrangement of 5-bromo-3-methyl-
2-formamide-2'-nitrodiphenyl sulfides. The above compounds are obtainted by the formylation of 2-arrllno-5-bromo-7methyl-
2'-nitrodiphenyl sulfides. These are prepared by the condensation of 2-amino-5-bromo-3-methyl benzenethiols with
o-halonitrobenzene. |
