Abstract: Traffic conditions follow stop and go operation on urban road network due to traffic signal and congestion. Drivers behaviour at intersection remains quite complex when they wait for signal. In spite of having many digital informations of signal timing, they don't switch off engine during waiting or delay at intersection. The results of such action cause large amount of fuel wastage at intersection and also emission is produced during waiting or idling. Normally emission factors are available during running of vehicles. Emission during idling period of vehicles at intersection is very little known to researcher. In this paper a research study has been carried out to understand emission at idling time of vehicles at signalized intersection by customizing a Software Called MOVES for Indian conditions. This study has been carried out at Ashram Chowk at Delhi that shows how much emission is produced due to idling of vehicles.
