Abstract: The viscosities and partial molar volumes of bis- (tetra methyl ammonium) mercuric tetra chloride in dioxane-water mixtures of various compositions in the temperature range 298-318 K have been measured. The experimental results of viscometry have been analyzed using the Jones-Dole equation. Impact of solute on viscosity is studied in terms of Gruenberg-Nissan parameter (d'). Mechanism of viscous flow has been studied in the light of activation parameters. Apparent molar volumes (φV) of this electrolyte at different concentrations have been estimated using Masson's equation.
