dc.description.abstractEffect of the applied EMF on the rate of electrodeposition of selected toxic metal ions [Pb(II), Hg(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)] in aqueous solutions in presence of blast furnace granulated slag of steel plant has been studied. An external EMF of 4 V is found to enhance the rate of electrodeposition of Hg(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Ni(ll) by 24, 32, 9 and 9.7%; respectively, whereas a decrease in the pH of the solution enhances the removal of metal ions.en_US
