Abstract: To minimise the nitrogen losses from the applied urea, the urea granules have been coated with syntheticpolymer like urea form as well as a bio-polymer like Ca-alginate. Subsequently, the nitrogen release of the resultant urea granules in water have been studied over a period of 120h. The corresponding experimental procedure and the results obtained have been discussed.
