dc.description.abstractThe electrical properties of three antimony containing polymers and their blends with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) have been studied. The bulks as well as surface resistivity of these polymers indicate that the polymers behave like a semiconducting material evident from the values of bulk resistivity (109 to 108 ohm cm) and surface resistivity (101 to 103 ohm) of the polymers at room temperature. The effects of electric field and temperature on resistivity of the polymers have also been investigated. Variation of dielectric constant and loss of the polymers with frequency (100 Hz to 10kHz) and temperature (room temperature to 80°C) has been studied. The change of electrical (bulk) conductivity of the blends with the blend composition has also been investigated. The band gap of the samples was found to be varying from 1.9 to 1.12 eV.en_US
