Title: Use of minimized light mode patterns in shadow-casting system for optical parallel logic operations in the enhanced edge of image

Abstract: Optical shadow-casting technique (OST) is one of the methods of using optical signal in computation. The fundamental requirement of shadow-casting technique is the choice of particular switching states of input LEDs (light emitting diodes) for a specific logic operation. In this communication we propose a method of implementing all the possible logic operations particularly in the detection of image edges by the way of pattern recognition. For that a minimized pattern of the On-state light modes will be used to ensure the logic operations in the images edge. The detected image edge becomes enhanced here also for that structure of light mode pattern. This enhanced edge of the image may cover all the possible logic operations.
