Title: Influence of red mud particle incorporation on viscoelasticity of PS/LDPE blend

Abstract: Semi crystalline low density polyethylene (IDPE) was blended with polystyrene (PS) by using melt blending procedure. Different weight-fraction of red mud (RM) particles was incorporated in the blend. Mechanical and rheological properties of filled and unfilled blends were evaluated. Modulus of blend increased with the addition of RM particles. Addition of RM particles increased the shear stress and melt viscosity of RM filled blend. Recoverable shear strain (SR) was reduced on loading of RM particles in the blend, and increased with the increase in shear rate. Shear rigidity (G) increased with the increase in loading of RM particles Dependency of G on shear rate was also studies.
