| Abstract: | Mechanical and thermal comfort aspects of fabrics produced from some non-conventional blends and light weight constructions have been examined. Single yarn woven worsted suiting fabrics show better physical as well as physiological comfort-related properties. Among various natural fibre based worsted suiting fabrics, the linen blend proves to be most suitable with respect to mechanical comfort. Wool and wool:silk blends provide very good transmission properties. Fabrics produced from single worsted yarns are found to be superior to those of the equivalent 2-ply yarns as regards to both mechanical and thermal comforts. |
