Abstract: | An environmentally benign approach for the synthesis of pyrazolophthalazinyl spirooxindoles has been developed with the help of a task-specific ionic liquid [DBU][AcOH], which plays the dual role of catalyst as well as reaction medium. The advantages of this method include the use of green reaction conditions, no organic solvent, easy work-up, excellent yields and recyclability of the ionic liquid. |
