Abstract: The paper presents the study of the effect of microwave radiation on dry soil. For this, five different soil samples were collected from various geographical regions of India. The waveguide cell method was employed for the determination of the storage factor (Ɛ') and the loss factor (Ɛ" ) of the soils. In this paper the methodology of measurement of dielectric constant for unexposed and exposed soils to microwave radiation is given and the results obtained are discussed.
