Authors: Gupta, R K
Issue Date: Dec-1971
Publisher: NISCAIR-CSIR, India
Abstract: Both China and India have started their new phase of development in the 1940s. There has been considerable progress in the field of education in both the countries. But so far as the academic library development is concerned, it appears from available information and statistics, however scanty they are that China has forged ahead of India. The reasons for this slow development of academic libraries in India are discussed.
