Abstract: Transliteration of Russian characters into English has gained considerable importance owing to tremendous growth of Russian sci-tech literature on the one hand and its large scale translation into English on the other. The existence of various systems for transliterating Russian characters into English often gives rise to variant rendering of the some name or title, causing difficulties. Most of the systems have used diacritical marks fop transliteration, which are not easily amenable for computer aided printing. In view of all these, a system has been suggested which is devoid of diacritical marks & easily amenable for typing, teletyping, computer aided printing etc.
