Abstract: Periodicals have been publishing in India for the last two hundred years. During this period, about seven to eight thousand scientific serials are estimated to have been published. Of these, some are already extinct and some are on the verge of extinction. Measures to be taken to preserve the near-extinct periodicals have been discussed.
