Abstract: An efficient halophilic thermostable alkaline protease producing haloarchaea (APP 15- JQ307199.1) was isolated from marine solar salterns of Mulund (E) (19º10’12’’N, 72º57’18’’E) Mumbai. Stability of crude enzyme was determined with different organic solvents. The enzyme stability observed at high temperature, high NaCl concentration and alkaline pH paved a way to use the enzyme in diverse applications.
