Title: Interatomic potential and induced dipole moment from Cd-Ar line satellite profile

Abstract: The satellite on the blue wing profile of the 326.1 nm cadmium perturbed by argon has been analysed by the UFC model developed by Szucly and Baylis [J Quant Spectrosc Radiat Transf, 15 (1975) 641]. Both the potential difference between the upper and lower states of the Cd-Ar quasi molecule and the dipole moment variation with the internuclear distance have been modified to give the best fit to the experimental profile. Values of well depth (ε) and the minimum position (Rm) obtained in the present study agrees closely with other studies done in recent past.
