Title: Polymer electrolytes containing fluoride ion conducting salts

Abstract: Fluoride ion conducting solids are an important class of materials due to their potential applications in fibres, sensors, solid state batteries etc. Polymer electrolytes based on polyethylene oxide (PEO) and fluoride ion conducting salts viz PbF2, KF, SrF2 have been studied by using infrared spectroscopy, electrical conductivity measurements and optical microscopy studies. Room temperature conductivity of the order of 10-5 -10-6 S/cm, typical for polymer-salt complexes has been obtained.
