Abstract: The cultivation of tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) is uncommon in Northern plains of India due to lack of knowledge regarding the profit from the crop. Keeping this in view an attempt has been made to work out the techno-economics of tuberose. All recommended cultural practices were followed for proper growth of the plants. Cost calculations regarding input and output were made as per the prevailing rates of NBRI, Lucknow. Cost of production and sale indicate that net profit from per hectare cultivation of tuberose for cut spray is approx. Rs. 1.85 lakh. It has been suggested to farmers to grow tuberose to earn more profit and meet the demand of floriculture industry and cut flower trade.
