Abstract: Semi-hardwood cuttings (15 cm length) were taken from healthy vigorous shoots of gamma ray induced mutant of Bougainvillea cv. ‘Los Banos Variegata’ (S.M.) and treated with indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) solution each at 0, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 ppm by quick dip (10 seconds) and 0, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 ppm by long dip (24 hours) method. The cuttings were planted in 6 inch pots filled with coarse sand and kept under glass-roofed mist chamber for rooting. IBA at 1000 ppm induced maximum rooting (100%) with higher number of roots (32.0) and survival (90%) in the long dip method.
