Abstract: In crop plants, developing resistance to pests and diseases has become foremost in Agriculture. It has been noted that some peptides including defensins, melittins, cecropins, sarcotoxins and magainins show a biological activity against pests and diseases of some crop plants. In the present paper an effort has been made to review the efficiency of these bioactive peptide molecules in enhancing the potential of defense mechanisms in plants.
