Abstract: A M Shamsuzzaman, Shahryar Shareef, S H Naquib & A K M A Islam Isotope exponent α of YBa2Cu3O6+x has been analysed with oxygen content (x=0.4-1.0) by using exact expressions for isotope shift exponent for a electronic density of states (EDOS) in the Van Hove singularity scenario (VHS). The result reproduces the general experimental trend of α as a function of x. The theoretical value of α at optimum doping has been found lesser than that obtained by other workers, though the experimental value is still smaller.
