Title: Effet of filler on ionic conductivity of electrolytes of low and high Tg polymer

Abstract: In the present work, an attempt has been made to develop a highly ion conducting polymer gel electrolyte free from exudation problem and also possessing good mechanical integrity. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PYP) with high Tg (453K) and polyethlene glycol (PE G) possessing low Tg (233K) have been utilized as host matrix in development of the composite gel electrolyte system. Solutions of ammonium adipate and ammonium succinate in Dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) have been used to prepare composite gel electrolytes. The maximum ionic conductivity of pristine gel electrolytes of PYP and PEG have been found to be of the same order. It is revealed that addition of organic filler PYA affects the conductivity of PYP based composite gel electrolytes in greater amounts in comparison to PEG based composite gel electrolytes. Moreover, the optimum ionic conductivity of PYP based composite gel electrolytes system has been found to be greater than that of PEG based composite gel electrolytes.
