Abstract: The efficiency of 1-8 dinitronaphthalene as a cathode material in a magnesium/zinc based primary battery is examined. The discharge performance of the cell is investigated under different parametric variations such as pH, temperature, nature of electrolyte, current drain , and zeolite modification. Depending on the current drain and pH of the electrolyte, 8e or 10e reduction takes place.
