Abstract: Nitrates and perchlorates salts of N-methylaniline and N,N-dimethylaniline have been prepared and characterised. Thermal and explosive characteristics of these salts are studied by TG, DSC, DTA, DTG and ignition delay measurements. Although the kinetics of thermolysis of these salts were evaluated by fitting TG data in nine mechanism-based kinetic models but the parabolic law gives the best fits. Slow thermolysis involves proton transfer and rapid thermolysis leads to ignition to yield gaseous products.
