Abstract: The proposed method presents a systematic approach for early identification of innovative technologies with market acceptability a research that public research institutes can pursue. The developed approach allows the identification of current and future technologies and a prospective evaluation of their commercial potential, thereby helping its transfer to the market place. The method uses information from a wide spectrum of knowledge sources in structured way and addresses the potential social, environmental, and innovative aspects. It fully encompasses all the different stages required for the identitication of emerging technologies and early appraisal of its market acceptability. This paper also suggests some measures for decisionmakers of public research institutes for adopting ''Technology Push" approach to transfer its technologies into the market place.
