Abstract: The present paper describes an efficient methodology for the solution of acoustic pressure field inside a rectangular enclosure. The developed method of boundary characteristic orthogonal polynomials has been used to model the problem and the usefulness of the method is discussed by obtaining simple expression for the sound field. The pressure field calculation is given in terms of 3-D analysis. However, pressure field on various surfaces of the enclosure may also be easily calculated from the proposed method using 2-D analysis.
