| Abstract: | In this paper, traditional methods of patent valuation are explained, including the standard preparation work and various models that can be applied to arrive at an estimate. The drawbacks of these approaches and informatics-based relative valuations are also evaluated. The application of these methods in the various contexts of ‘emerging technologies’ is also discussed. |
