dc.description.abstractUsing quasi-classical Green function , a general formalism for calculating charge imbalance and its relaxation in nonequilibrium superconductors is presented. The formalism is applicable at arbitrary temperatures, under conditions when the width of quasi-particle state is appreciable due to pair breaking processes and when strong-coupling effects are significant, in the limit of small pair-breaking and for a weak coupling superconductor the collision term in the formalism reduces to the one in the quasi-particle Boltzmann equation.en_US
