Abstract: Monthly average daily sunshine hours data have been analyzed to estimate solar radiation on tilted surface and hence the tilt factors are computed with different tilt angles and azimuth angles. The use of daily rather than hourly time intervals in the calculation of monthly mean values of solar radiation for both horizontal and inclined surfaces is a desirable objective due to a reduction in the required computational effort and more general availability of daily data. The present paper also calculates the optimum tilt angles that will help to design non-tracking inclined solar devices.
