dc.description.abstractAccurate values or X-ray and gamma-ray attenuation coefficients or different chemicals are required in spectrometry as well as in many other scientific, engineering and medical disciplines involving photon radiation . The current state or knowledge or experimental and theoretical gamma-ray and X-ray attenuation coefficients in aqueous solutions of salt is presented and exemplified by recent work. The results presented provide a basis for studying X-ray and gamma-ray photon interactions with ions in solution (hydrated ions) rather than ion compounds in solid form. en_US
